ITU-T officially released the first cloud computing framework standard

Recently, ITU-T officially released the standard Y.3501-cloud computing framework and high-level requirements led by China Unicom on its official homepage. This standard is the first in the ITU-T cloud computing Y.3500 series of standards, and is also the first international cloud computing framework standard. It is an important milestone in the process of cloud computing standardization; the publication of this standard marks China ’s Breakthroughs have been made in the field of computing standardization and will gradually influence the subsequent research and formulation of international standards for cloud computing.

This standard led by China Unicom defines the framework of cloud computing by clarifying the high-level requirements of cloud computing, strictly following the standardized sequence of demand drawn from application cases, and clarifies network as a service (NaaS), infrastructure as a service (IaaS), and desktop Application cases and high-level requirements for several major cloud computing services and resources such as DaaS, Inter-Cloud, end-to-end cloud resource management, and cloud infrastructure.

It is understood that this standard is based on the research results of the ITU-T FGCC (Cloud Computing Focus Group), and was formally established in February 2012 and was released in 15 months. In the process of formulating this standard, it has attracted active participation from mainstream international telecom operators, equipment manufacturers, software providers, and scientific research institutions. It has a solid industrial foundation and far-reaching industry influence. At the same time, China Unicom has also adopted this standard The results are applied to the research and development of Unicom Woyun and other projects. At the same time, China Unicom is leading the development of another cloud computing international standard-Y.CCNaaS (network as a service demand, use cases, and functional architecture) under the leadership of ITU-T. This draft standard is the first time to standardize the functional requirements and architecture of cloud services from the perspective of the carrier network of telecommunications operators, and has obtained official from mainstream telecom operators and software and hardware manufacturers from France Telecom, Poland Telecom, Huawei, ZTE, Shanghai Bell, Microsoft and other domestic and foreign Support, another core area involving cloud computing standardization, is expected to be officially completed and released in 2015.

In recent years, China Unicom has attached great importance to innovation research. The Unicom Research Institute has specially established a standard R & D team represented by new technologies such as cloud computing, and has achieved a batch of gratifying results; in the future, the Unicom Research Institute will continue to uphold The research and development idea of “production, study, research and application” strengthens the influence and voice in the standards and industry, and reflects the due influence that matches Unicom.
