The criminal suspect purchased personal information through the Internet and fraudulently used it in the name of a TV shopping mall to give back gifts. More than 10,000 yuan, the case involved more than 4,400 consumers across the country.

The Ministry of Public Security organized the public security agencies throughout the country to start the crime of cracking down on the purchase and sale of personal information of citizens, which began at the end of 2012. The public security organs declared hatred for people’s hateful purchases and sales of personal information, text messages, and telecom fraud. On December 11 last year, the Qinlingdao Funing County Public Security Bureau Criminal Investigation Brigade and the stay-at-home camp sent a routine inspection of a local temporary house and discovered that the criminal suspect Zhao and 15 of them had passed through the rental room. Set up false telephone numbers and use the name of the feedback items of Beijing TV Shopping Center to defraud victims of mailing fees, packing fees, and advertisement development fees.

Zhao Xing, a police officer at the police station of the Funing County Public Security Bureau in Qinhuangdao City, captured a total of 13 criminal suspects, including one male and all other females. All females were operators they hired.

The other party starts or sells insurance, or starts to borrow money, or says that you have won, and you can send money back to him. He is ready to mail you a prize. So how did these people know our mobile number and how did they know about our information?

After investigation by the police, this place did not have a relevant business license and had nothing to do with the so-called "Beijing TV Shopping Center." The “activity” on the phone is nonsense, and the operator only dials the consumer through a virtual number with the area code 010. According to the police, the items presented by the suspects are all "cheap goods". In view of this situation, the police initially determined that this was a case of telecommunications fraud. According to the criminal suspect Zhao, that list of personal information, he was bought from the Internet.

After further investigation by the police, it was learned that from August last year, Zhao began to formally engage in telecommunication fraud activities until December 11, four months, 12 operators called scam calls to more than 4,400 customers all over the country, of which 3321 were The client agreed to accept, and there were 1,492 people who succeeded in the final fraud. In addition to purchasing products and paying postage fees, Zhao illegally earned more than 260,000 yuan. Xing Weidong, chief of the Criminal Investigation Team of the Funing Public Security Bureau in Qinhuangdao City, said that citizens must strengthen their awareness of prevention. Do not be convinced of unfamiliar calls and avoid being deceived and personal losses.

Be careful when answering international Internet telephony beginning with “000”; receive suspicious calls, call 110, or call the relevant unit directly for verification. Do not trust the so-called transfer calls.
