â–² Order Details
â–² Dog East Door-to-Door
Ordered from Royal Park, delivery was quick and efficient. JD Logistics never disappoints, and their growing focus on specialized logistics is impressive. Let’s start with the outer packaging of this camera. I’m not sure if it’s due to JD’s own logistics, but there was an extra layer of plastic seal, which is great for water and stain protection.
â–² Tear Plastic Seal
It’s common to see such unique packaging on electronics, with clear product features marked. However, be aware that if you don’t fully open the package, shaking it gently sounds very loud. Panasonic, can you rethink the packaging design next time? Are you worried about the camera being shaken during transit?
â–² Crazy Unboxing
Again, the packaging design is not ideal. The camera body has too much space inside the box, which makes it feel unstable when shaken.
â–² Family Portrait
As per tradition, I took a family photo to wish everyone peace and happiness.
â–² Main Parts
Camera, data cable, charger, battery, and a hand strap.
â–² Charger Plug
Clearly labeled “Made in China,†the matte texture feels smooth and lightweight.
â–² Battery
The build quality is decent, but I’ve heard some users say the battery may bulge over time. When pressed, the middle part felt a bit thin. I hope future designs improve on this.
â–² Hand Strap
Hand straps are essential for camera safety. This one is average, and I think Sony’s version is better made.
â–² Front View
The Leica lens logo is prominent. I believe the VARIO-SUMMILUX lens is the main reason to buy this camera. With its Leica origin, it delivers exceptional quality. The aperture range is between F1.4 and F2.8, which is remarkable compared to similar-priced models. In low-light conditions, it captures clearer images, and the large aperture creates a more pronounced background blur.
â–² Function Dial
The design is simple and intuitive, requiring minimal learning. It’s easy for anyone to get started and take great photos.
â–² Function Keys
A friend mentioned he wasn’t satisfied with the LX10’s button layout, saying it wasn’t user-friendly. But after using it myself, I found the buttons well-placed and the materials were just right. They’re easy to press and responsive.
â–² Pop-up Flash
This flash showcases Japanese craftsmanship. Each detail reflects precision and care. However, one downside is that once the flash pops up, it should be closed as soon as possible to avoid damage.
â–² Power On
The lens quality is excellent, with even coating. Reasons I bought this camera include 4K video recording, touch focus screen, Leica lens, F1.4 aperture, 180° flip screen, and 5-axis image stabilization. After opening the box, it was definitely worth it.
â–² Comparison with Damage
Calling it a “pocket camera†isn’t wrong. It’s slightly shorter than an iPhone and similar in size to a regular compact camera, but the LX10 offers the best image quality among such devices.
Third, Photo TestIn order to keep the test objective, the following photos are taken without any editing. (All shots were taken in "iA Wisdom" mode)
â–² In bright light, the image sharpness is high and the resolution is satisfactory. However, I noticed the color tends to be a bit dull. Even with a Leica lens, the output doesn’t have that “Leica look.â€
â–² At the wide-angle end (equivalent to 24mm), it's more than enough for general use when you don't have a professional wide-angle lens.
â–² Black and white mode. I really like the effect of Panasonic's black and white mode. Sharpness, dark corners, contrast, everything is perfectly balanced.
▲ Night shooting isn’t great. Due to the small sensor size, night performance won’t be top-tier, which is understandable. If you want better night results, two options: 1) use a tripod; 2) switch to a DSLR.
If you ask me if I regret buying this camera, I’ll tell you: No! Not at all. I’m completely satisfied. The Leica lens, touch screen focus, Panasonic build quality, and F1.4 aperture make it a great choice. Sometimes it’s a bit bulky, but it’s still perfect for most casual situations. (I haven’t encountered the so-called "gray problem" with the lens yet.)
Advantages:
- Excellent craftsmanship and durable, lightweight material;
- Stable lens quality, made by Leica;
- Great brightness with a large aperture and noticeable bokeh;
- Fast and precise touch screen focusing;
- Flip screen for easier shooting;
- iA Wisdom mode is highly intelligent.
Disadvantages:
- Poor packaging design, not safe for transport;
- Battery surface material is subpar;
- Handle gets sweaty easily and needs frequent cleaning.
After comparing other high-end compact cameras from Sony, Canon, Fuji, Sigma, and Ricoh, I finally chose the Panasonic LX10, and it was definitely worth it. During Double 11, it was available for under 4,000 yuan. Highly recommended!
