The lightest shared bike came ~ Mob’s fourth-generation shared bike release
**Global Network Technology Comprehensive Report**
Mobike, the first company to launch shared bicycles, has been continuously innovating to improve user experience and reduce maintenance costs. Initially, some early users were not fully satisfied with the product, prompting Mobike to release a second-generation "Lite" version. In April, they introduced the third-generation "Wind Light" model, which significantly enhanced the riding experience. Recently, Mobike launched an even more advanced generation of bikes, focusing on reducing weight and improving efficiency.
The latest model is designed to be the lightest in the industry, weighing only 15.5 kg. This reduction in weight makes it easier for users to ride, especially over long distances. The new design also features improved structural strength, exceeding EU standards by 50%, ensuring durability without compromising on safety. Additionally, the bike comes with low-resistance solid tires developed in collaboration with Dow Chemical, cutting down resistance by 27% and making each ride smoother.
One of the most notable innovations is the introduction of professional riding power. This concept measures the effort required to pedal, combining force and cadence. According to Mobike's ergonomics lab, the new generation of bikes requires only 67% of the effort compared to other brands, making them much more efficient and comfortable to use.
In addition to this, Mobike will introduce automatic transmission models. These bikes can adjust gears automatically based on the rider’s speed and cadence, eliminating the need for manual gear shifting. This feature not only enhances convenience but also improves performance and reliability. It marks the first time that automatic transmission technology has been applied to shared bicycles.
Mobike also unveiled a new smart lock called “Hawk,†which improves unlocking success rates. The new design is lighter, more durable, and supports both GPS and Beidou satellite positioning. It also integrates global mobile networks and IoT connectivity, allowing seamless access to different countries' telecom networks for international operations.
Notably, the design of the new bike was done by Naoto Fukasawa, a renowned designer from MUJI. His work emphasizes the concept of "unconscious design," where the user doesn't need to learn how to use the product—it just works intuitively. However, unlike previous models, this new bike does not feature the iconic orange color, which may affect brand recognition in the Chinese market.
As of now, Mobike operates in over 180 cities across 8 countries, with more than 7 million smart bikes on the road. It has over 150 million registered users globally and provides more than 25 million rides daily. With continuous innovation and a focus on user experience, Mobike continues to lead the shared mobility revolution worldwide.
