AMD platform's "change brick" update Win10 all get

Microsoft has recently released patches to address the "brick" issue on the AMD platform, focusing especially on systems that were not updated on the 18th. The Windows 10 system now offers a complete fix for CPU security vulnerabilities, significantly reducing the risk of devices becoming unresponsive or "bricked."

In early January, Microsoft moved up its patch Tuesday schedule due to the global impact of the Spectre and Meltdown vulnerabilities. However, the update faced issues with certain AMD platforms like the Athlon and Ryzen, leading to an emergency halt. This prompted Microsoft to pause and reassess the rollout before proceeding.

On January 18th, Microsoft resumed the Windows 10 cumulative update push, including three key builds: Build 16299.194 (Autumn Creator Update), Build 15063.877 (Creator Update), and Build 14393.2034 (Annual Update). These updates aimed to resolve the "brick" problem specifically affecting AMD hardware.

The following day, on January 19th, Microsoft rolled out additional patches targeting systems that had not been addressed on the 18th. These updates included specific KB numbers for different Windows 10 versions.

Windows 10 Fall Creator Update x86 (32-bit) users received KB4073291, updating their system to Build 16299.201.

Users of the first feature update of Windows 10 (Version 1511) installed KB4075200, upgrading to Build 10586.1358.

For the original release of Windows 10 (Version 1507), KB4075199 was applied, bringing the build number to 10240.17741.

These updates not only resolved the potential "brick" issue on AMD platforms but also addressed CPU security flaws—though it's worth noting that AMD is not affected by the Meltdown vulnerability.

Additionally, the update to Build 10586 fixed a bug that caused users to be unable to log out due to constant credential checks.

Considering previous issues with Windows 7 and 8.1, it's clear that Microsoft has finally taken full control over the entire ecosystem, ensuring broader compatibility and stability across all platforms.
