The circuit diagram of the color TV pillow correction system adopts a standard design, using models such as the South Korean Samsung MC-15, Venus C6418, V6458, Peony 64C1, Lehua CT6388W, and others. This type of circuit is commonly used to correct pincushion distortion in television displays. The field sawtooth voltage is delivered to the pillow correction circuit through pin (4) of P404. Along with components R455, C454, and R457, this forms an integrating circuit that converts the sawtooth wave into a convex parabolic wave. This waveform is then applied to the base of the parabolic wave shaping amplifier transistor Q451. After amplification and shaping, the output from the collector of Q451 provides a 9V peak-to-peak concave parabolic wave voltage. This signal is further processed by the horizontal amplitude adjustment and left-right pincushion distortion control network, which includes VR451, VR452, R464, R463, and R462. The composite tube formed by Q453 and Q452 further amplifies the signal, and the collector of Q452 outputs a 12.5V peak-to-peak parabolic wave voltage. This final signal is sent to the line scanning circuit via pin (3) of FR459 and P403, where it modulates the scan current. This process effectively corrects pincushion distortion, ensuring a more accurate and stable image on the screen. VR451 is the line adjustment potentiometer, while VR452 is the pincushion adjustment potentiometer. These components allow for fine-tuning of the display's geometry, making it easier to achieve optimal picture quality. Understanding how these circuits work can be helpful for technicians or hobbyists working on TV repairs or modifications. The use of such well-documented designs also makes it easier to troubleshoot and adjust the system when necessary.
