According to recent reports, Xiaomi will release a special version of the TV in partnership with PPTV on September 29th. This move is expected to bring fresh innovation to the smart TV market.
Industry analysts believe that the collaboration between Xiaomi and PPTV is centered around sports content. PPTV has been actively expanding its content portfolio, investing billions in content and operating systems. It aims to lead the industry with high-quality content. PPTV has already secured over 10 million large-scale content copyrights and is working with major TV manufacturers, with Xiaomi as one of its first partners.
Currently, PPTV has become a leading force in content development, surpassing LeTV as a major player in sports content. It holds rights to major events such as the Serie A, Bundesliga, Chinese Super League, and the Champions League. With Xiaomi and PPTV joining forces, there is expected to be a major shift in sports content layout.
In addition to content, the hardware of the custom TV must also be appealing. The customized 32-inch model is based on Xiaomi TV 4A and features 1GB + 8GB storage, which is significantly better than the standard 1GB + 4GB configuration in the industry. It is priced at 1,299 yuan. The 43-inch version includes 2GB RAM + 8GB ROM + HDR, offering higher-end specifications and a price of 2,099 yuan. These models are positioned as premium options but still remain affordable, aligning with Xiaomi's brand identity.
With the TV market still uncertain and the Internet TV industry undergoing major changes, Xiaomi has been continuously innovating and adjusting its strategies. It seems poised for a strong comeback in this round of market reshuffling.
