How to operate the sound system switch correctly

A sound system consists of a number of independent sound units, such as tuners, decks, equalizers, LD or VCD machines, and AV amplifiers. These units need to be plugged into a 220V AC power pin board. In order to save trouble, some people turn off the power of the plug when the power is turned off. When the power is turned on, all the plugs are powered on. Although this method saves trouble, it has hidden dangers. Because this operation generates surge currents and anti-peak voltages, these two shocks often damage the audio equipment. Most of the equipment damage is generated at the moment of power on or off, and the well is not damaged during normal working conditions.

Surge current: An audio equipment consists of components such as resistors, capacitors, inductors, and transformers. They are all cold before starting up. When the power is turned on, its resistance is small, so the instantaneous current is very large, which is 2.5 to 3.5 times of the normal operating current. This current is called a surge current, which can cause damage to the circuit. It is generated at the moment of power on or off, and is not damaged during normal working conditions.

Inverted voltage: Inductive components, transformers, etc. have a characteristic that when a voltage is applied to a circuit or a voltage is removed, the unit generates a counter electromotive force to prevent this voltage from changing. Then when a voltage is applied to the inductive component, it generates a counter electromotive force to prevent the establishment of this voltage, but the energy of the power supply voltage is constantly flowing, so this back electromotive force only acts as a voltage damping, which has little effect on the circuit. However, the situation is different when the power is turned off. When the power is turned off, there is no blocking of the back electromotive force in the circuit. This voltage is the anti-peak voltage, which is 9 times of the normal voltage. Although its current is small, the voltage is high, causing an impact on the equipment. Therefore, the inrush current and the anti-peak voltage of each audio unit simultaneously exert a large impact on the audio equipment, which is easy to cause damage to the equipment. In this case, each audio unit is preferably turned on and off one by one. The correct boot sequence is to boot in the direction of the source signal flow: open the deck, CD player, LD or VCD player, tuner, equalizer, and finally turn on the power amplifier.

The correct shutdown sequence is to turn off the amplifier first, then turn off other devices.

At present, in order to be convenient to use, a foreign type of delay type power supply pin plate has been invented. The first set of jacks is a direct switch jack; the second set of jacks, when the machine is turned on, it can be delayed by 1 s (seconds) before the power is turned on; the third set of jacks, when the machine is turned on, can be extended When the power is turned on for 2s (seconds); the fourth group of sockets, when the machine is turned on, it can be turned off for 3s before the power is turned on. Similar to this when shutting down, the power is also turned off in different time periods.

This prevents the inrush current and the anti-peak voltage from acting on all devices at the same time and damaging the audio equipment.
