Vishay develops professional film MELF resistors to provide more accurate current measurement for LED lighting

Recently, Vishay announced the introduction of the AEC-Q200 certified Professional Thin Film MELF resistor with a tighter tolerance and a resistance value less than 1 Ω, using new resistors in the 0204 and 0207 dimensions. Vishay Beyschlag MMA 0204 and MMB 0207 offer lower temperature coefficients and better performance, enabling more accurate current measurements than previous generation devices in LED lighting, industrial, automotive and renewable energy applications where high stability and reliability are required.



The devices released today are manufactured using advanced metal film technology with resistance values ​​up to 0.22 Ω, tolerances of ±1%, TCR of ±50 ppm/K, and rated power dissipation of 1 W at +70 °C. The professional film MELF resistors have dimensions of 0102, 0204 and 0207. They are designed with robustness and inherently good sulfur resistance. The overall stability exceeds 0.25.
