Fuse use precautions - Solutions - Huaqiang Electronic Network
1. The fuse should be installed in series with the line and mounted vertically on each phase line. It is not allowed to install a fuse on the neutral line in a two-phase three-wire or three-phase four-wire circuit.
2. The power inlet end of the screw-type fuse should be connected to the center point of the base, while the outlet should connect to the threaded shell. This setup helps prevent vibration-related issues.
3. When the power load exceeds 60A or the lighting and electric heating load (at 220V) exceeds 100A, a tubular fuse must be used for better performance and safety.
4. Fuses for control circuits should be placed in the voltage and electrical control circuits of the metering device to ensure proper function and protection.
5. For porcelain insert fuses, use qualified lead alloy wire or copper wire. Never replace a single fuse with multiple smaller ones, as this can compromise safety.
6. Ensure the fuse is intact and has good contact. During maintenance, regularly check for discoloration, deformation, or aging. Replace it if necessary to maintain system integrity.
7. After selecting a fuse, verify that it can properly protect the wiring. If the wire cross-section is too small, consider increasing its size to avoid overheating or damage.
8. The copper cap of the drop-out fuse should be clamped at least 3/4 of the way up the contact point. Ensure the surface of the fuse and its melting element are free from cracks or damage.
9. Never arbitrarily increase the thickness of a fuse or substitute it with copper or aluminum wire. These materials may not provide the correct level of protection.
10. In new workshops, apartments, and buildings, each household should have a multi-meter system. In addition to the main fuse box and entrance fuses, each sub-meter must also have its own dedicated fuse for safety and reliability.
Proper installation and maintenance of fuses are essential for ensuring electrical safety. Always follow manufacturer guidelines and local regulations when working with electrical systems. Regular inspections and timely replacements can prevent potential hazards and extend the life of your electrical equipment.
