1. Spherical LED Bulbs: These are among the most common types. They emit light from one side and typically have a plastic or aluminum base. Some designs feature a slight curvature, resembling an inverted trapezoid.

2. Ring + Top Light (Corn Foam Style): This type is often called "corn foam" because its small, dot-like structure resembles corn kernels. It offers a more even distribution of light compared to traditional models.

3. Three-Fork Shape: This design is more advanced than the corn foam style, offering better structural efficiency and improved lighting performance. It’s widely used today due to its reliability and quality.

4. Lamp Cup Type: These are older designs, similar to spotlight cups, but they have many limitations and are gradually being phased out in favor of more modern options.

How Do LED Bulbs Work?

LED stands for Light Emitting Diode. It is a solid-state semiconductor device that converts electrical energy directly into visible light. The core component of an LED is a semiconductor chip. One end of the chip is attached to a support, acting as the negative terminal, while the other end connects to the positive terminal of the power supply. The entire chip is then sealed in epoxy resin for protection.

The semiconductor chip consists of two parts: a P-type semiconductor, where holes dominate, and an N-type semiconductor, which contains mainly electrons. When connected, these two form a PN junction. When an electric current flows through the chip, electrons move toward the P region, where they recombine with holes. This recombination releases energy in the form of photons, producing light. The color of the light depends on the material used in the PN junction.

Why Do Light Bulbs Shine?

In traditional incandescent bulbs, the main light-emitting component is a thin tungsten filament. Inside a glass bulb, the air is removed and replaced with an inert gas like nitrogen. When electricity passes through the filament, its high resistance causes it to heat up, eventually glowing and emitting light. However, this method is less efficient and generates more heat compared to LED technology.

LEDs, on the other hand, provide a more energy-efficient and longer-lasting solution, making them the preferred choice for modern lighting systems.
