5. **Elute** the target compound with 2 mL of ethyl acetate.
6. **Evaporate** the eluate to near dryness and re-dissolve it in 1 mL of 0.1% aqueous acetic acid.
Throughout the process, the flow rate should be carefully controlled at 1–2 drops per second.
**Experimental Results:**
The MIP SPE method yielded excellent recovery rates and good reproducibility. On average, the recovery of patulin was 84%. The chromatogram showed no interfering peaks, indicating that the SupelMIP SPE effectively removed impurities such as HMF that often interfere in traditional methods.
