1. LED digital tube display classification
LED digital tube display is divided into static display mode and dynamic display mode.
(1) Static display mode: Each field code is output from the I/O control port and remains unchanged until the CPU refreshes.
Its characteristics are: programming is simple, but it takes up a lot of I/O lines, and is generally suitable for occasions with a small number of display bits.
(2) Dynamic display mode, one bit is displayed at a certain moment, and the cycle scans in turn, and the rotation display shows that due to the human visual retention effect, people see multiple positions and display at the same time.
Its characteristics are: occupying less I/O end lines, simpler circuit, more complicated programming, and the CPU should periodically scan and refresh the display. Generally applicable to occasions with a large number of display digits.
2. LED Display expansion (display mode)
LED display extended display mode: static display and dynamic display
(1) Static display: Each digital tube continues to receive the display signal during the display process, and the I/O line of the interface with each digital tube is dedicated.
Static display features: no flicker, more components, accounting for more I/O lines, no need to scan, save CPU time, simple programming.
(2) Dynamic display: Each digital tube receives the send signal in turn during the display process, and is shared with the I/O line of each digital tube interface.
Dynamic display features: flashing, fewer components, less I/O lines, scans, CPU time, and complicated programming. (especially when there are multiple LEDs)
