The first Guangzhou International Lighting Festival was held from September 26th to October 15th, 2011 at Huacheng Square. The lighting festival of Tsinghua Planning Institute is the core design team. Louis Clair, a famous French lighting designer who participated in the Lyon Festival of Lights, is an overseas consultant. As one of the strong supporters of the 12th Five-Year Culture, the projection of the theme of the shadow play, the special creation of the sand painting performance with the theme of Guangzhou urban construction, the facade projection performance of the Chinese classical culture story, and the ancient lighting exhibition, not only It reflects the traditional Chinese culture and also reflects the regional culture of Guangzhou.
The Festival of Lights supports the realization of Guangzhou as an “international city†goal, which enhances the city's popularity and public pride.
