1. When there's no need to share signals, placing multiple instructions in the same network may introduce unnecessary input/output operations (which can be analyzed using STL). If these aren't logically required, avoid horizontal parallelism to at least eliminate an "AND" instruction. This makes the program more compact and easier to manage.
2. Use immediate I/O commands sparingly, as they require additional processing time. Minimizing their use helps reduce the overall execution time of the PLC.
3. Prefer using calculation result memory instead of transition memory when performing calculations. This leads to faster access and better performance.
4. Whenever possible, use "word" or integer data types instead of "double word" or real numbers. This reduces processing overhead and improves efficiency.
5. Avoid unnecessary data type conversions. If conversions are unavoidable, store intermediate variables in AC registers to minimize the number of conversions. Also, when programming, try to reserve storage space in advance—for example, if you're using VW2 to store an integer, avoid using VW0, so that the data in VW2 can be directly accessed as VD0.
6. Reduce unnecessary network scanning by grouping conditionally executed networks—especially those involving AIW or AQW—into subroutines. These subroutines can then be called conditionally, such as during timed interrupts, improving the structure and efficiency of the code.
