US ITC officially launched 337 investigation on LED products
On February 12, 2015, the US International Trade Commission (ITC) voted to officially launch a 337 investigation on certain light emitting diode products and components. The products involved include LED bulbs and LED chips.
On January 12, 2015, Cree filed an application with the US ITC, accusing the US import and some LED products sold in the US domestic market and its similar components infringing its patent rights, requesting the initiation of the 337 investigation, and issuing exclusion orders and prohibitions.
US ITC finally determined the following companies as the respondents of this case: Feit Electric Company, Inc.; Feit Electric Company, Inc., of Xiamen, China; Taiwan Dongbei Optoelectronics Technology Unity Opto Technology Co., Ltd.; Unity Microelectronics, Inc., USA.
