Gentleman does not set up a simple operation to let Cortana operate everything

There's an old saying in the world of rivers and lakes that goes, "You can do it without a fight." But even with that wisdom, it's still smart to use computers. It's not just about typing during winter—both in the north and the south. No matter the season, conditions like tendonitis and carpal tunnel syndrome are always on the way.

With technology advancing so rapidly, speech recognition systems have become incredibly powerful. Xiao Bian is like a “Hi, Siri” that responds from your computer to your phone. In fact, there are even tools like Windows' Cortana, which works quite well when the network is stable. Although Xiao Bian is currently limited in functionality, other tasks can be handled through it.

You might think Cortana can only help with searching, but that’s only partially true. By default, it does very few things, but if you're willing to use basic commands, Cortana becomes incredibly versatile. For example, logging out, restarting, or shutting down your PC can all be done using voice commands, provided you've created a batch file beforehand.

To get started, open Notepad and type the following code:

Shutdown -l

Save the file as "logout.bat" and place it in either the C:\Windows or C:\Windows\System32 folder. For restart and shutdown, simply replace the command with:

Shutdown -r (for restart)

Shutdown -p (for shutdown)

You can even combine multiple commands into one batch file for more efficiency.

If you want Cortana to launch specific programs, you’ll need to create a similar batch file with the correct executable path. For instance, to open Paint, the command would be:

@echo off

Mspaint.exe

Creating these files is straightforward. Just go to the Start menu, right-click the application, and select "Open File Location." This will take you directly to the folder containing the .exe file.

Once you're in the folder, you'll see the actual executable files. However, some system apps might be labeled in Chinese, so you should right-click the app, select "Properties," and check the "Details" tab to find its real name. For example, the Paint app's actual name is "Mspaint.exe."

By spending just a little time setting up these commands, you can control your computer with simple voice commands. Once you speak to the microphone, Cortana will display the results, and clicking them is faster than ever before. It’s a great way to streamline your daily tasks and make computing more efficient and user-friendly.
