I. Brief Description:

The peel strength tester is a specialized device used to measure the adhesive strength of transparent tapes. It's commonly referred to as a peel strength tester and is widely used in the adhesive tape and adhesive industry. This testing machine, which can be either electronic or computer-controlled, is designed for various peeling tests such as 180°, 90°, T-shaped, and floating roll methods (especially for high-strength adhesives). It also supports tensile shear strength and splitting strength tests for different adhesive products.

II. Preparation Tools:

1. Peel strength tester (with clamps) – available in electronic or computerized versions.

2. Transparent adhesive tape.

3. Ruler – for measuring sample dimensions if needed.

4. Manual rolling roller – to apply even pressure on the tape.

5. Clean, smooth steel plates – free from scratches and dust.

6. Scissors – for cutting the adhesive tape into required sizes.

7. Pen and paper – for recording test results and data.

III. Operating Method (Standard Procedure):

1. Connect the power cord to the instrument’s rear socket and ensure it is connected to a single-phase AC 200–240V/50Hz power supply. The printer should be connected to a 220V power source. (LOAD1 and LOAD2 are the load cell interfaces; press the power switch.)

2. Install the upper and lower clamps and adjust the setting rings on the upper and lower limit safety switches. Use the Up or Down key to check the automatic return position and clamp positioning to avoid collisions during operation. After adjustment, make sure to tighten the setting rings securely.

3. Securely clamp the test specimen without applying any tension during the process, as this could affect the accuracy of the test results.

4. Enter the parameters of the tested item (such as number, area, gauge length, etc.), and set the test conditions (test method, speed, holding force, dwell time percentage, units, etc.).

5. Press the “Test” button on the PT-2000 display to start the test.

6. Once the test is complete, record the displayed values and curves. You may choose to print the results if needed.

7. Return the clamps to their original position for the next test.

IV. Safety and Precautions:

1. Adjust the upper and lower limit safety switches according to the fixture being used. Settings may vary depending on the type of fixture.

2. Always stay close to the machine while operating it. Ensure that the upper and lower clamps do not collide during movement.

3. Each test machine has different configurations and load capacities. Never overload the device.

4. This is a precision instrument and should be used in clean, dry environments. Avoid using it in dusty or humid areas.

5. When handing over the machine to another operator, always explain the operating procedures and safety precautions clearly.
